Get to know Guillaume Albouze from Liebherr

My name is Guillaume Albouze, and I have been working in Research and Technology propulsive and non-propulsive power systems for aeronautical applications since more than 14 years. Decarbonation of power systems using hydrogen fuel cell systems is my main topic since more than 5 years. I am currently Product and technology strategy manager for Liebherr-Aerospace Toulouse SAS, and as such, in charge of the BRAVA project, and especially the Air Supply System.

What was your original motivation to become a researcher?
My original motivation was to be part of the journey to decarbonate aviation.

What is your (main) research area today?
My main research area is the use of hydrogen fuel cell power generation systems for onboard propulsive and non-propulsive energy. Liebherr-Aerospace has a broad range of research topics for next generation of aircraft, including for example electrification, weight reduction and performance increase.

What is the main objective of your team in BRAVA?
My main research area is the use of hydrogen fuel cell power generation systems for onboard propulsive and non-propulsive energy. Liebherr-Aerospace has a broad range of research topics for next generation of aircraft, including for example electrification, weight reduction and performance increase.

What expertise and facilities does your team have to meet those objectives?
We have extensive knowledge in electrified air supply systems, motorized turbo compressors as well as air-conditioning, thanks to our experience obtained with environmental control systems.

Which aspects of your research at BRAVA do you believe are the most innovative and what unique opportunities offer BRAVA to yourself and/or your organisation?
BRAVA offers to Liebherr-Aerospace the possibility to work closely with Airbus and other potential partners on this innovative propulsion system, with the objective to get the best architecture.

How do you see the future use of the BRAVA-results and the impact of BRAVA-project in our daily lives?
The use of BRAVA results may be used in the ZEROe demonstrator and future Airbus programs, in hydrogen powered aircraft as well as in electrified aircraft.
